Richard O’Hanlon followed up his second-place finish in the Exeter Golf and Country Club Pro-Am by going one better in the Oake Manor Golf Club Pro-Am.
However, the PGA pro from St Kew Golf Club had to share first place with the English PGA Championship winner, Paul Hendriksen (above).
Furthermore, O’Hanlon (right) needed an eagle at the par-five 17th to ensure parity with his rival from Ivybridge Golf Club.
Hendriksen had made the early running and, reaching the turn in one-under, was the only member of the 34-strong field to break par on the front nine.
Three birdies tempered by two bogeys on the way home resulted in him posting a two-under-par round of 68.
O’Hanlon, meanwhile, was level par at the turn and but closed the gap with the eagle at 17 to finish a shot clear of Louis Boston of Chippenham Golf Club.
Boston was the only other player to break par and achieved a measure of consolation in the team event when he led his trio of amateurs – Jason Brock, Martin Adams and Barry Hardwill – to victory with a 16-under-par total of 124.
