Michael McGeady (Evolve Golf Coaching) made a bright start to the PGA in Ireland Pro-Am season by winning the Roganstown Golf Hotel Pro Am supporting the Crumlin Children's Hospital.
McGeady carded a five under par 66 to finish two shots clear of Damien McGrane (Carlow GC), Simon Thornton (Tulfarris Golf Resort) and Richard Kilpatrick (Banbridge GC).
With a shot-gun start in operation, the Derry golfer began his round at the par five 10th with a birdie and proceeded to add two more at the 15th and 18th as he reached the turn in a bogey-free three under 33.
He continued that solid performance after he turned for home and quickly got to six under for the day with further birdies at the second, third and fifth. A dropped shot at the par three sixth halted his progress somewhat but he managed to close out his round with three solid pars to post the winning mark of five under.
Ardee GC professional, Ciaran Molloy, guided his amateur partners Arron Murray, Alson Farham and Monica Flynn to victory in the team event with a total of 89 pts.
