The PGA Scotland is toasting its latest sponsorship with a beer after clinching a deal with the St Andrews Brewing Company.
The independent brewer will be the new title sponsor of the remainder of the Order of Merit 36 hole series on this season's Tartan Tour.
The deal sees St Andrews Brewing Company become the official beer of the PGA in Scotland with its new Pale Ale launched to mark the partnership.
"We’re delighted to have the St Andrews Brewing Co on board for the remainder of this season, and to take the opportunity to link the PGA in Scotland with this award winning Scottish company," said PGA in Scotland secretary Shona Malcolm.
The first event on the St Andrews Brewing Company 36 hole series takes place at West Linton on 14-15 August, when host club pro Gareth Wright is likely to be the man to beat.
The series will conclude with another 36-hole event at Deer Park, where Grantown-on-Spey's Gavin Hay will be hoping to repeat his recent Deer Park Masters victory.
The sponsorship deal will also include recognition of St Andrews Brewing Company as an 'Associate of the PGA in Scotland'.
Philip Mackey, managing director of the St Andrews Brewing Company, added: "St.Andrews is globally recognised for quality not only in golf but also for the university, its history and now for our beer.
"As we are based in the centre of the town only 703 yards from the Old Course, partnering with the PGA in Scotland made immediate sense and we hope that our support will help bring the next Scottish golfing superstar to the global stage."
