About the Championship

In late 2017, Staysure proudly announced that it was to become the first ever title sponsor of 'The Staysure Tour' (previously known as the European Senior Tour). As part of this major investment in golf, Staysure and The PGA teamed up to create the Staysure PGA Trophy, a national club contest.

The Staysure PGA Trophy is open to all amateur golfers aged 50 or over who team up with a PGA Professional of any age and features seven outstanding Regional Final venues.

The winners of the inaugural Staysure PGA Trophy were PGA Professional Glen Portelli and his amateur partner Vic Kenny from Old Fold Manor Golf Club.

In 2019 amateur Martin Quickfall teamed up with PGA Professional Stephen Bennett to win the tournament at the London Golf Club. “As far as my golfing experience goes this is top of the list," said Quickfall. "I don’t think you can beat this, I can’t think of anything that could top this. I’ve been playing golf for 35 years and I’ve never experienced this sort of level of golf.”
