COVID-19 helpline to be launched

COVID-19 helpline to be launched

Following on from the UK Government announcing financial support relating to the Covid-19 crisis, a Members Helpline will be launched by Monday 30th March.

This initiative will be led by The PGA and GCMA.

PGA Professionals, Golf Clubs and Facilities will undoubtedly be suffering financial hardship due to the COVID-19 crisis. The two organisations have collaborated, with the overarching objective to help their members understand what Government financial support might be available to them. To support this effort, and as further details of this financial support is announced from the UK government, the COVID-19 Resource Hub will continue to be updated with the most up to date information.

In addition, as other Governments announce their support packages, we will ensure this information is centrally collated via the hub and distributed to our Irish and International members.

On the announcement:

Bob Williams GCMA CEO commented ”The recent announcement concerning Government support will present a life line to many golf clubs. Golf Club managers will need to fully understand the support available and I strongly believe this Helpline will provide clarity to not only GCMA Members but all golf clubs”.

Robert Maxfield Chief Executive of The PGA commented “Many of our Members businesses have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis on the back of a challenging winter. There have been some great examples of golf clubs supporting their PGA Professional and through the Helpline we aim to ensure they are also aware of how the Government might be able to assist them during this difficult time”.

Further details on the Helpline will be announced later this week.
