The PGA are proud to run a world leading education programme in partnership with the University of Birmingham and the University of the Highlands and Islands.

As part of our Foundation Degree (FdSc) and Diploma in Higher Education (DipHE), we deliver numerous face to face sessions to over 900 students. These sessions are designed by our module leaders and then delivered by external lecturers.

Each year, students submit in excess of 15,000 assessments (assignments and exams) which are first marked by our external markers and then internally moderated by our module leaders.

Tutor, Marker and Assessor recruitment:

The PGA are actively seeking individuals to work across multiple roles:

  • Tutoring - the delivery of subject specific lectures at the PGA
  • Marking - marking written coursework and exams
  • Assessing - assessing students in practical formal assessments

Individuals should be able to demonstrate a good level of expertise in the area they are applying to work in, including a proven record of personal and professional development in this area.

Prior experience in higher or further education would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Roles available:

Subject areas looking to take on individuals across the 3 distinct roles - tutors, markers and assessors, include:

  • Business & Management require individuals with a solid background and keen interest in business, whilst having specific knowledge of the golf industry would be advantageous.
  • Equipment Technology are looking to take on individuals who have a strong interest in golf equipment and custom fitting.
  • Sport Science are looking individuals to Tutor who specialise in Sport Psychology. This could be a PGA Professional who has an inherent interest in sport psychology, or an academic who has relevant experiences within the sport of golf.

Additionally, we are looking for markers with a sport science related background (e.g. biomechanics, strength and conditioning, psychology).

If you believe you have the appropriate skill sets to be involved in the programme, please send an initial communication to David Colclough.

Please clearly highlight your specialist area (i.e. golf coaching, business & management, equipment technology, sport science) so that your enquiry may be passed on to the appropriate module leader.
