Damien McGrane is cleaning up quite nicely, on home soil, during his free time from the European Tour.

The Meath man (above) has clinched yet another pro-am victory, this one being the Down Syndrome Centre Pro-Am at Delgany.

The tournament was also in honour of the 100th birthday of the late, great Harry Bradshaw who was so closely connected with the Delgany Golf Club.

McGrane posted a five-under-par 63 to be two shots ahead of Damian Mooney with Eamon Brady a further two shots back in third place.

The winner covered the first six holes in an amazing five-under-par with the second hole the only one not to be birdied.

McGrane’s front nine charge was halted when he bogeyed the short eighth hole but he got that shot back with birdie three at the ninth for a front nine of five-under 29.

His back nine was quite different as he bogeyed par four holes 10 and 12 but balanced the slip-ups with birdie three at 15 and a four at the long 18th for level par 34.

The winning team was led in by John Kelly whose amateur partners were Derek Whelan (15), Dave Fox (15) and Willie Kennedy (17).
