Reigning Midland No.1 Paul Streeter returns to Wentworth next week – a year on from securing the biggest payday of his professional career.

The Lincoln Golf Centre PGA Professional, who normally spends the bulk of his working week coaching amateurs improve their games, will put his to the test when he competes in the European Tour’s flagship event – the BMW PGA Championship – which will feature the cream of European golf including all 12 members of the victorious 2012 Ryder Cup team.

Streeter, who earned more than €48,000 after finishing tied 21st from four successful days over the West Course, will be joined in Surrey by former PGA Cup player James Whatley, head professional at East Midlands Golf Academy in Morley Hayes, Derbyshire.

The pair secured their places in the €4,750,000 tournament from May 23-26 after finishing tied sixth at the end-of-season Titleist PGA Play-Offs in Turkey last year. A total of 10 PGA Professionals from across country will be in the field.

It will a totally new experience for Whatley as this is the first time the 30-year-old has booked his place in the Tour’s blue riband event. However, this will be Streeter’s third appearance at Wentworth.

A host of other PGA pros will be in action down at Wentworth but outside of the ropes and on the practice range where the likes of PGA Master Professionals Pete Cowen and Denis Pugh will be keeping a watchful eye over their players.
