Auction website gives Total Triumph Winter Series a boost

Details of the Old Sports Auctions-sponsored competition that will supplement the remaining 2023/24 Total Triumph Gloucestershire and Somerset PGA Winter Series have been finalised.

It will comprise four Stableford format events with the first staged at Minehead Golf Club on January 10. The second will be at Shirehampton Park in February with number three following in April at the Players Club. The fourth and final event will also be staged in April at Wheathill Golf Club.

The programme has been designed to encourage more PGA Professionals and Trainees to take part, with entry fees for the latter reduced.

Old Sports Auction is an online site owned by Somerset-based businessman Neil Mossman (pictured) that specialises in golf memorabilia.

He also owns Total Triumph Motorcycles, the Taunton-based firm that has sponsored the Gloucestershire and Somerset PGA Winter Series for 11 successive years.

Commenting on his latest initiative supporting professional golf in the two counties, he said: “I have been a great supporter of local PGA Professionals over many years.

“I really hope this idea can help to bring out the new generation of pros onto the golf course a little more in the coming months.”

Gloucestershire and Somerset PGA chairman Andrew March added: “We are delighted to welcome another sponsorship brand on board with us and are extremely grateful to Neil and Old Sports Auctions for their support of the new event.”
