PGA Cup player Nick Brennan (above) won the final Dorset and Wiltshire PGA medal of the Winter Series in the re-arranged Race to Remedy Oak finale. It was due to be played at the prestigious Remedy course but was twice postponed because of vile weather.

When the event was eventually switched to Canford Magna, the Dubliner from Bowood shot four-under-par 67 to take the honours. He fashioned his winning round from the fifth to the 13th holes when he picked up five shots.

Two Wiltshire players were also joint runners up. Ross McCance (Chippenham) and Dan Carter (Upavon) were one shot behind while Ross Langdon (South Cerney) was fourth on 70, one ahead of Mark Searle (High Post) and Dudsbury pair Lee Thompson and Mark Wiggett.

Langdon’s finish was good enough to take the Order of Merit title with early leader Paul Jones (Canford Magna) second.
