Cameron Clark triumphs at Senior PGA Professional Championship at Moor Park

A strong final round was more than enough for Cameron Clark to outrun the chasing pack as he lifted the Senior PGA Professional Championship trophy at the stunning Moor Park Golf Club.

In a tournament marked by blustery yet sunny conditions across three days on both Moor Park’s West and High Courses, Clark posted rounds of 68 and two 70s to claim the title.

The Moor Hall professional made his move early, reaching the turn five shots clear thanks to birdies at the 5th, 6th and 9th. A level-par back nine was all he needed to close out a composed and well-earned victory.

It marked redemption for Clark, who narrowly missed out on a play-off spot in last year’s event. Reflecting on the win, he said:

“It feels amazing and a real honour to win such a prestigious event. I’m absolutely thrilled, as it’s our main event to play in as senior golfers.

“It’s nice to finish the job this year and have a decent lead down the last few holes. I’m really grateful to have been in that position.

“I played great on the first day. Round two, playing on the West Course, it needed a little more strategy. Today wasn’t the best start with a three-putt on the 2nd, but bouncing back with birdies at the 5th and 6th allowed me to create a lead and play sensibly down the stretch. I was really pleased with how I managed that.”

He also praised the host venue, adding:

“Moor Park is amazing. I love coming here as it really is an incredible place. Two challenging golf courses, which I think the scoring proved this week, but we’re made to feel so welcome. It’s just a pleasure to be here.”

Heading into the final round, fellow Englishman Ross Robertson was just two shots off the lead, but a series of dropped shots, including bogeys at the 3rd and 4th and a double-bogey six at the 11th, saw his challenge fade, leaving him far too much ground to make up in his remaining holes.

Whitehaven Golf Club’s Jonathan Graham, however, made an impressive late surge. Starting the day 11 shots off the pace, he climbed into a tie for fourth after carding a superb five-under 67.

Clark’s reward was further sweetened by securing a return to the Staysure PGA Senior Championship, earning exemption into the 2025 event at Trump International Golf Links.

“I was lucky enough to play in that event last year thanks to my fourth-place finish in this tournament,” said Clark. “I’m thrilled to be back there again this year. It’s an amazing event.”

The top 15 finishers qualified for the Legends Tour event, due to take place from 31 July to 3 August 2025.
