Currie hot stuff at Cardross

27/05/2014

Chris Currie (Caldwell) won the Belhaven Best Ben pro-am with two strokes to spare as he overcame difficult conditions at Cardross.

Preferred lies were permitted, so wet were the underfoot conditions after prolonged heavy rain, but that should not detract from Currie's five-under-par round of 66.

Joint runners-up on 68 - they received £612 each - were Paul O'Hara (Clydeway Golf) and Robert Arnott (Bishopbriggs).

Jonathan Lomas (Caprington) piloted Punch Tavern trio of amateurs, Steve Latto, Russell Topping and Alan Bowes, to victory in the team event with a net score of 12-under-par 59.
