Four in a row for Gray

Hayston tour pro Stephen Gray won his fourth competition in a row in this week's Ayrshire Winter Golf Association fixture at Old Prestwick.

He completed the four-timer after victories at West Kilbride, Kilmarnock Barassie and Royal Troon.

Gray's winning round at Prestwick was a bogey-free, three-under-par 68 (34-34). He finished three shots ahead of Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills).

The success clinched the Order of Merit title for Gray with a total of 51pts. Graham Fox (Clydeway Golf) was a distant runner-up with 34pts.

The JR McKay Amateur Trophy was won by Scott Miller (Royal Troon) with a net 74.

Peter Boyd (Glasgow GC) won the Amateur Order of Merit by one point from Colin Peddie (Kirkintilloch).
