Frank Hill named Suffolk PGA captain

Frank Hill, head professional at Thorpeness Golf Club, has been appointed as captain of Suffolk PGA for the next two years.

Hill, a former captain of the PGA East Region, has played on the PGA European Seniors Tour and is a past winner of the PGA Super 60s Championship, which is currently held at Thorpeness.

Suffolk PGA have also made the draw for the Town and Country Cars match play competition for 2014. Holder Neil Mitchell (Bury Golf Range) meets Aldeburgh assistant James Markham in the second round.

The draw for the 2014 Town and Country Cars Cup:

First round: (to be completed by end of April): Rob Pritchard (Cretingham) v Ben Kerr (West Suffolk Golf Centre); Matt Alderton (Bury St Edmunds) v Phil Westley (Hintlesham); Paul Wilby (Haverhill) v Robert Joyce (Felixstowe Ferry); Simon Reeve (Aldeburgh) v Andrew Robinson (Southwold).

Second round: (to be completed by end of May): Pritchard or Kerr v Matt Ransome (Seckford); Tim Cooper (Newton Green) v Ollie Rush (Haverhill); Keith Preston (Aldeburgh) v Ed Garrard (Rookery Park); Alderton or Westley v Frank Hill (Thorpeness); Wilby or Joyce v Peter Latimer (Felixstowe Ferry); Neil Mitchell (holder, Bury Golf Range) v James Markham (Aldeburgh); Bradley Wilkins (Fynn Valley) v Tony Dobson (Stonham Barns); Reeve or Robinson v Kelvin Vince (Rushmere).

Matches can played over 36 holes on a home and away basis with first named player at home first. Alternatively they can be played over 18 holes on a neutral venue or one mutually agreed by both players.
