Kelly equals Portpatrick record

Chris Kelly equalled the course record of seven-under-par 63 in winning the top pro prize of £1,050 at today's (SAT) Portpatrick Dunskey charity pro-am.

The Cawder man had two eagles in halves of 34-39. The first was a three at the long third and the second was a two at the par-four 17th. He also birdied the short 11th, the 13th, 14th, short 15th, 16th and long 18th. His only bogey came at the fifth.

He won by two shots from a trio on the 65 mark - Greig Hutcheon (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre), Christopher Currie (Caldwell) and Greg McBain (Kemnay) who each earned £647.

Kelly also won the team event with a net score of 118. His amateur partners were Frazer Hare (6), James Caldwell (2) and Daid Alexander (16).
