Kent venues hit by thieves

05/06/2013

PGA Professionals and golf facilities across Kent are being urged to stay alert after thieves hit two venues in the county.

The Olympic Golf Driving Range in Swanley was broken into last night (Tuesday) with intruders taking a state-of-the-art K-Vest, Casio camera and Dell Top, worth in excess of £6,000.

Neighbouring Pedham Place Golf Centre, was also targeted with the venue’s ball machine broken into. That came just days after it buggies damaged and batteries stolen from the vehicles.

PGA Professional Tim Absalom, of Olympic Golf, said: “What has been taken is very technical expensive items. They certainly knew what they were taking as that was all that was taken.

“I just want to alert other PGA professionals and other golf venues to stay alert. I also want to ask them to notify the police if they approached to buy any of this equipment.”

Kent Police are dealing with the incidents and anyone with information can contact them on 01622 690690.
