Mark Kerr's third place in the JDRF Charity pro-am over the Ryder Cup course at Gleneagles suggested he was running into a bit of form.

And so it proved six days later, at the Bishopbriggs pro-am in which he chalked up his first win of the 2014 season.

A late-in-the-day round of three-under-par 68 by the Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel tour pro earned him £1,267 by demoting the clubhouse leading trio of Paul Gallacher (Bearsden), Chris Kelly (Cawder) and Jonathan Lomas (Caprington) all of whom shot 70.

Kerr's round was "nothing special" after seven holes, following bogeys at the first and sixth with a birdie at the fifth sandwiched between.

But Kerr then covered the last 12 holes in four-under-par with a bogey-free run studded with birdies at the eighth, 10th, 11th and 17th.

Greig Hutcheon (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) suffered a rare experience on the Tartan Tour - his 74 left him outside the prize-money allocation which stopped at 73!

Dunbar's Neil Fenwick led the amateur "C Carlin" team to victory with a net 56. Craig Carlin (handicap 16), Gary Fitzpatrick (13) and Michael Lyons (6) were the team members.
