Leading man Hunt moving in for the kill

28/08/2013

The race for the PGA North Assistants' Challenge Order of Merit title reaches the last lap in the Harold Lees Trophy at Dore and Totley next week (September 2-3).

And it's boiled down to three players led by Altrincham-born Liam Hunt.

The 25-year-old moved into pole position when he won the fourth and penultimate tournament at Bolton two weeks ago.

Hunt, part of the Knutsford-based Premier Management Group and a former High
Legh Park assistant, is 70 points ahead of nearest rival Scott Jackson, from Disley, while Peter Finch is 100 off the pace.

But the Chilli Dip Academy man is not in the field at the Sheffield club which leaves Formby Hall's Matthew Harrison the only other contender and he trails by 198 but with 270 to the winner he's still in with a chance.
