Levermore reigns supreme in Belgium

Jason Levermore, head professional at Channels Golf Club, took the honours at the Essex PGA three-round pro-am in Belgium by a single shot from Mark Stokes (Rayleigh Golf Range).

Levermore had rounds of 64 on the opening day at Ostende which set up his overall victory. He followed up with 69 at Damme and 71 at Zoute.

Stokes was steady with rounds of 68, 69 and 68. Mark Baker (Colchester) and Brett Taylor (Brett Taylor Golf) were tied third but were a further 10 shots behind. Fifth place went to Steve Cipa of South Essex Golf Centre. John Judd (Hartswood) and Matt Stables (North Weald) were tied sixth.

Eighteen teams made the trip. Team winners were Stokes, Ian Liddell, Dominic Adams and Greg Vassallo by six Stableford points from Judd with Thorndon Park amateurs Blair Hunter, Greg Thomas and Nick Burr. The team with Chase Davis (Stapleford Abbotts) was third, 11 points off the pace.
