Mark Bishop elected as Essex PGA captain

Toot Hill Golf Club head professional Mark Bishop has been elected as captain of Essex PGA for 2014. He takes over from Andrew Pestell of Chelmsford.

The Essex PGA Open Championship will be held at Toot Hill on May 15 with a pro-am the previous day. The pre-qualifier on the same course will be held on March 17.

The scheduled better ball event before the Essex PGA annual meeting was cancelled because the course was waterlogged at Channels Golf Club.

The Essex pro-only event at South Essex Golf Club on January 22 has also been postponed.
