Newcomer McCance in three-way tie at West Wilts

24/02/2014

Ross McCance once again shocked the more experienced players by featuring in a three-way tie in the latest Dorset and Wiltshire PGA winter medal series in the Race to Remedy Oak.

The young Chippenham Golf Centre trainee has been the surprise package this winter, and he followed up his second place in the previous medal at Kingsdown by carding two-under-par 68 in surprisingly dry conditions at West Wilts Golf Club, Warminster.

His score was matched by Ross Langdon (South Cerney) and Barry Forster (North Wilts). Mark Searle (High Post) and Neil Rowlands (Broadstone) were one shot behind in fourth place.

The Race to Remedy has tightened up as favourite Paul Jones (Canford Magna) failed to score any points while Langdon now shares top place on 295. Mike Watson (Wessex Golf Centre), who did not play, is 40 points behind with McCance and Forster closing the gap with two events remaining.
