Nick Moncur takes Toot Hill win

Nick Moncur put in a classy performance at Toot Hill Golf Club to win the individual professional prize at the Essex PGA pro-am by two shots.

The Ingrebourne Links Golf Complex head professional completed his round with a level-par 70 to lead from Mark Baker (Colchester) and Jason Levermore (Channels). It was a classy performance by Moncur in cold and windy conditions.

Chris Goddard of Romford was fourth with a round of 73 and Mark Stokes (Rayleigh Golf Range) followed in fifth with 74.

Sixth-placed Andy Pestell (Chelmsford) led the winning team of talented Chelmsford Golf Club juniors James Allan (plus three), Elliott Oxlade (three) and Oscar Yeoman (four) who amassed 81 Stableford points.

Allan was leading amateur at the Mena Golf Tour Abu Dhabi Golf Citizen Open at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in October.

Bill Chapman (Rivenhall Oaks) and his amateurs were runners-up with 79. Nick Moncur’s team took third place on count back from the amateurs with Baker and Levermore, who each signed for 78 points.
