Senior professionals Stephen McAllister (Renaissance) and Downfield's Ken Hutton held off their younger rivals to win the top two cash awards in the Brother pro-am.

McAllister lifted the £750 top prize with a one-over-par 73 over the Centenary Course at Gleneagles, the location for this year’s Ryder Cup in September. His round contained birdies at the long second and short sixth as well as bogeys at the first, 12th and 13th.

Hutton, recent winner of the Senior PGA Professional title at Foxhills, shot a 74 in which he had a chance to pip McAllister after birdieing the 11th and 12th to balance out bogeys at the third and fifth.

But Hutton bogeyed the 13th and 17th to finish one behind the winner and settle for the runners-up's £650 award.
