PGA Members head for Legends Tour event at Trump International Golf Links

25/07/2025

Members qualified for the flagship event via their performances at our Senior PGA Professional Championship

A total of 15 PGA Members earned places in the field for the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship in Aberdeen after finishing high on the leaderboard at the Senior PGA Professional Championship in May.

The top 15 from the three-day event at Moor Park in Rickmansworth, which was convincingly won by Cameron Clark, earned spots to play at the coming week’s event at Trump International Golf Links.

The marquee tournament for the Legends Tour has a bumper field including the likes of Paul Lawrie, Michael Campbell, Jose Maria Olazabal, Rich Beem, Shaun Micheel, Paul McGinley, Jean Van De Velde and tournament host Colin Montgomerie.

These major champions and Ryder Cup stars will be joined by the following PGA Professionals who qualified via the Senior PGA Professional Championship:

Cameron Clark

David Copsey

Sion Bebb

Jonathan Graham

Garry Houston

Brett Taylor

Fraser Munn

Paul Streeter

Craig Corrigan

Ross Robertson

John Harrison

David Salisbury

Sean Whiffin

Michael Watson

Stuart Little

“It feels amazing and a real honour to win such a prestigious event. I’m absolutely thrilled, as it’s our main event to play in as senior golfers,” Clark said.

“It’s nice to finish the job this year and have a decent lead down the last few holes. I’m really grateful to have been in that position.

“I was lucky enough to play in that event last year thanks to my fourth-place finish in this tournament,” he added. “I’m thrilled to be back there again this year. It’s an amazing event.”

In 2024, Robert Coles took victory at the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship at the same venue, shooting 4-under through the 72-hole event to beat former Open Champion Lawrie by one shot.

His win was all the more remarkable given Coles had won the Senior PGA Professional Championship in the lead-up, making a birdie on the first playoff hole to seal the deal.

“It was a real thrill to win the Senior PGA Professional Championship and then to follow it with the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship was brilliant. It’s the Legends Tour’s flagship event and if you were going to pick one to win it would be right up there,” Coles said.

“Getting through that tournament and qualifying is tough - but when you know you've got top 15 to get to Trump International, that's a great inspiration for anyone. It might not be your week to win but you can still grind one out and try and get in that top 15 - and what a prize at the end of it.

“I think it's a massive deal and a great inspiration to a lot of PGA Professionals, like it was for me when I was playing on PGA events. It definitely adds pressure to the guys trying to qualify. That year, I was already exempt but for sure, you would be thinking about qualifying.

“Some of them will be very positive and believe that they can do well, and why not? And some of them will maybe look around a bit like people do and go ,’Oh wow, look at these major winners and Ryder Cup players and Tour winners playing this week’.

“I don't think too many of them will think they’ve got no chance. I think they would all be fairly positive. They've obviously played well to get in the top 15, so they're obviously playing good enough. So why not?”

This was Coles’ first victory on the Legends Tour, having joined in 2022. As well as playing many times on the DP World Tour, he has played for Great Britain and Ireland in the PGA Cup twice, winning in 2009.
