The Home of Golf - St Andrews - will play host in December to the only the UK-based Certified Putting Instructor winter workshop.
The one-day event on Tuesday December 17, lead by Frank Thomas and Valerie Melvin, will cover the fundamentals of putting, putting technology and ideas for your business as well as delivering updates and the latest research from the Putting PAD in Florida.
Thomas has a high standing in the game having served as the technical director for the United States Golf Association for 26 years, where he was responsible for ruling on the acceptability of every new club and ball. He also introduced the stimpmeter and graphite shafts for golf clubs during his career.
Melvin, a native Scot, holds a degree in psychology, a Masters degree in medical science and was a former editor of Golf Science International.
The workshop has been specifically developed for PGA Professionals and will open the doors to the opportunity of becoming a Certified Putting Instructor from Frankly Golf – joining a number of PGA Professionals across the UK.
There are just 15 places available on the workshop, which carries 25 CPD points. It is being held at the St Andrews Links Trust Practice Centre.
Alternatively, there are two being held at Reunion Resort, Orlando, Florida on November 18 and December 2.
