An exciting opportunity has arisen for PGA Professionals to help Golf Development Wales (GDW) deliver beginner lessons and drive member recruitment.

The GDW is looking to support clubs without professionals by introducing a Roaming Professional Project.

This initiative will allow clubs to apply for a PGA Professional via GDW who will then supply funding to get beginner scheme projects off the ground.

As part of this scheme GDW is looking for professionals across Wales who are willing to be part of this project and help the game grow by supporting smaller clubs.

Details will be kept on file and when a club shows interest in this project GDW will match the club to a PGA pro along with the funding to run beginner sessions.

A GDW spokesman said: “Golf Development Wales is committed to securing the future of Welsh golf and develop a thriving network of clubs across the country and the PGA pro is at the heart of this development.

“The PGA professional is also vital to the business bringing in new members, communicating with visitors and members and being the face of the golf club.”

If you are interested in registering on the PGA list for the Roaming Pro Project please register by completing and returning the form available from the GDW website here.

Closing date for registration is May 9, 2014.
