Robinson lands maiden win

Largs' Paul Robinson scored his first win on the Tartan Tour with a five-under-par round of 65 to head the field of professionals in the Cawder Golf Club pro-am.

Robinson collected his biggest ever prize - £1,200 - for a round that contained an eagle (at the long seventh) and five birdies (fifth, 11th, 12th, 14th and 18th).

He had bogeys at the second and 15th but still managed to win by a stroke from joint runners-up Craig Haugh (Cawder), another new face near the top of a PGA in Scotland event, and Mark Kerr (Marriott Dalmahoy).

Haugh birdied the first, third, 10th, 12th and 14th but had a costly bogey at the 15th. 

And Kerr too, with birdies at the sixth, seventh, 11th, 12th and 18th will be rueing a bogey at the 17th which cost him a share of first place.

Scott Henderson (Kings Links) led the Enviraz (Scotland) ltd team of Ralph Cruickshanks (handicap 14), Alan Drennan (14) and Alan Kidd (14) to victory by the narrowest of margins with a 14-under-par two-ball net score of 126.

Mark King's Everwarm team also totalled 126 but lost out on the a countback of the inward halves.
