Leading PGA Professional Nick Solski, has been appointed by Braemar Golf as head golf professional at Zavidovo PGA National Russia.

Solski, a recent recipient of the PGA’s Advanced Professional status, has strong experience in operating in Eastern Europe having previously held director positions at Le Meridien Vilnius, Lithuania and at Superior Golf & Spa Resort in the Ukraine.

He said: "It has been a long term goal of mine to work for an international management company, and the assignment gives me the opportunity to input my own knowledge of the region to help develop the facility into Russia's number one golf resort."

Zavidovo PGA National Russia director Phil Jones said: "His experience in Eastern European countries will be very valuable to us as we aim to grow the business this summer."

The newly opened golf and residential community features 18-hole championship course, clubhouse with guest rooms and a forthcoming PGA National Golf Academy.

It is the only golf club in Russia carrying the prestigious PGA brand and in doing so joins the exclusive group of PGA National facilities elsewhere including those at the Belfry in England and at Gleneagles in Scotland.

Guy Moran, The PGA’s Head of Property and Development, welcomed the appointment, commenting: “Nick has great experience in developing golf in emerging golf nations.

"His experience should prove invaluable at Zavidovo PGA National Russia which continues its own development as Russia’s leading golf and residential community.”
