James Scade of Little Channels produced an outstanding round of five-under-par 66, which included seven birdies, to win the professional prize in the Essex PGA pro-am at Chigwell.

It has been a good season for Scade (above) who retained the Titleist-Footjoy East Trainees’ Championship at Bishop’s Stortford in September and made 10 cuts in 13 appearances in the PGA Europro Tour.

He also won pro-ams at Hendon and Wyke Green as well as sharing first prize with Chase Davis (Stapleford Abbotts) in PGA East Region Captain’s Day at Bishop’s Stortford.

Two shots behind at Chigwell were Steve Cipa (South Essex Golf Centre) who has considerable experience on the European Senior Tour and Jason Levermore (Channels) who is showing good form before the Titleist PGA Play-Offs in Turkey.

John Judd (Centre Golf Hartswood) was fourth with a round of 70. Clacton assistant Sam Teer was fifth with 71.

Scade led the winning team of Martin Hicks, Chris Parle and Andrew Hicks with 86 Stableford points. They won on count back from Rhys Piper (Centre Golf Hartswood), Andy Thomas, Dan Sellar and Jason Yenton.
