Jack Senior won his second HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour title of the season when he took the £10,000 winner’s prize in the Kerry London Championship at Burhill Golf Club.

The 25 year old continued a remarkable start to the season and moves to the top of the HotelPlanner.com PGA Europro Tour Order of Merit. He looks likely to already have earned enough money to secure one of the Challenge Tour cards awarded to the top five at the end of the summer. The former Walker Cup star has two wins and a second-placed finish from the four Europro tournaments played so far this season.

The Lancashire golfer began the final round on Burhill’s New Course in a share of the lead with Stiggy Hodgson, and recovered from four bogeys on the front nine to claim the title after signing for a one-under-par 71 in his final round.

Senior (Heysham Golf Club) finished one stroke ahead of Sam Connor (Alsager Golf & Country Club), who carded a final-round 69 to finish eight-under. Alex Belt (De Vere/Snainton) carded a 66 for his final round to propel himself to third. Hodgson (The Wisley Golf Club) shared fourth place with Greg Payne (Chobham Golf Club) on six under.

“It was a round of two halves,” admitted Senior, who also wins a brand new Motocaddy and a Shotsaver Range Finder.

“I didn’t hole a couple of putts but hit two really good shots down nine and holed the putt for birdie. The real turning point was at 11; I was off the green but decided to putt it rather than chip and I holed it across the green.

“I didn’t have a great season on the Challenge Tour, I played poorly and didn’t have any momentum during the season. At the end of the year I looked at what I needed to work on and made some changes.

“Sometimes when you are playing poorly it can work out more positively than negatively in the long run, because you can reassess where you are. When you are playing poorly you think a lot about things but when you have a break like I did during the off season then you have time to reflect and make changes.

“That really helped me and I have come out great this season. My confidence is really high at the moment.”

The top five players on the HotelPlanner.com PGA Europro Tour Order of Merit after the Kerry London Championship are eligible for entry into the Scottish Hydro Challenge at Macdonald Spey Valley (June 26-29). The top five Scottish nationals, provided they fall within the top 100 on the Order of Merit, are also eligible for starts.

The final round of the Kerry London Championship was filmed for a two-hour highlights package to be broadcast on Sky Sports HD at 8pm on June 10, with repeats the following day.
