Andy Sullivan showed he's not forgotten the way round his boyhood layout with a stunning 64 at Nuneaton to win the second PGA Midlands pro-am of the new season.

Sullivan, currently an impressive 29th in the Race to Dubai rankings in just his second season on the main tour, warmed up for this week's BMW PGA Championships at Wentworth with an early birdie blitz at the Warwickshire parkland venue.

He fired six in the first eight holes to take charge of the event, and although a few dropped shots followed later, an eagle at the 16th sealed a one shot victory over another visiting player.

Richard O'Hanlon, the St Kew Golf Club (Cornwall) pro and a regular participant at Midlands events, shot six birdies and an eagle in his 65 with PGA Midlands captain Ian Walley (Kedleston Park) a shot further back in third after a blemish free round containing five birdies.

The familiar figures of Simon Lilly and Paul Streeter also featured high up on the leaderboard as the hot May sunshine encouraged a low scoring competition which featured 33 teams.
