While golf’s handicap system is a great leveller the reality for disabled golfers is that playing the game poses a number of challenges.

But it’s testimony to the grit and determination of golfers like Chris Foster, who had his leg amputated aged nine through bone cancer, that anything is achievable irrespective of the disability.

European Senior Tour stars Des Smyth, Paul Wesselingh (above) and Carl Mason took part in a special ISPS Handa challenge ahead of the PGA Seniors Championship at Stoke by Nayland when they paired up with three disabled golfers to play the par three 18th.

They all marvelled at the skill of Foster who despite having just one leg has got his handicap down to 7.6 and to see just how impressive they all attempted to play a tee shot off one leg – with mixed results as can be seen in this YouTube clip!
