Job Summary:
Thornbury Golf Club is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Golf Professional to support the golf operations team in delivering an exceptional experience to members and guests. This role is ideal for a PGA Trainee or qualified PGA Professional who is passionate about golf, coaching, and retail operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Golf Operations:

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the golf shop and course activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, and visitors.
  • Manage tee time reservations and check-ins using booking software.
  • Ensure the presentation and cleanliness of the golf shop and facilities are maintained to a high standard.

Retail & Merchandising:

  • Assist in the management of golf shop stock including sales, ordering, and merchandising.
  • Maintain accurate records and promote sales through customer engagement.
  • Stay up to date with current product knowledge.

Coaching & Player Development:

• Deliver individual and group golf lessons to a range of abilities (subject to qualifications).
• Support junior and beginner coaching programs.
• Assist in the promotion and delivery of academy programs and custom fittings.

Club Engagement:

  • Represent the club professionally in internal and external competitions.
  • Build strong relationships with members and contribute to growing membership satisfaction and retention.
  • Promote club services, programs, and memberships.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Currently enrolled as a PGA Trainee or a qualified PGA Professional.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Passion for coaching and growing the game of golf.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
