About the Championship

The PGA England & Wales Inter County Championship is one of the Association's newest tournaments. It was launched in 2013 and five teams, each comprising three players, contested the final after qualifying via regional qualifiers.

The winners of the inaugural event, which was staged at four-time Ryder Cup venue The Belfry, were Suffolk trio Lawrence Dodd, Kevin Earp and Peter Latimer.

Jason Levermore, James Scade and Brett Taylor made in history by winning consecutive PGA England & Wales Inter County Championship titles in 2017 and 2018.

In 2019 the format for the PGA England & Wales Inter County Championship changed. There are no regional qualifiers with all 27 counties competing in the 36-hole final at Sutton Coldfield Golf Club.

In addition, each team will comprise two players and, unlike previous finals which were determined by the two best scores from three over two rounds, the format for round one is fourball stroke play and round two foursomes stroke play.
